403 ) ESSEQUEBO EN DEMERARISCHE COURANT.
11. October. [centered] Den Edele Achtbaare Hove van Justitie dezer Colonie zal Maandag aanstaande den zollen dezer, deszelfs Sessien hervatten. Den Edele Achtbaare Hove van Policie der beide Rivieren, zal op Maandag den 28sten dezer ten Raad-huyse alhier vergaderen. Op den 16den dezer is alhier gearriveert de Barbados Packett Boot, Sloep Mary, dewelke Brieven en Couranten uit Engeland tot den 23sten Augustus heeste mede gebragt. De Armeen hadden niet veel beweeging gemaakt op de Grenzen van Holland, en waaren nog omtrent in dezelve fi??atie in de buurte van Breda, even als by het vertrek van de vooige Packett van Engeland; de dappere Generaal Van Der Duyn had de Frankhen met veel voorspoed tegengehouden, en daar uit de grooste hoop dat zy be Beleegering zouden nieten opbreeken en verlaaten. De vermaarde Maximilien Roberspierre oud 35 jaaren en meest alle deszelfs aanhangers namentlyk George Couthon, St. Just, Roberspierre Jr. Henriott & Lavalette Maire van Parys, Payan en Viviers, zyn op den avond van den 28sten July ten overstaan van een onzaggelyk aantal aanschouwers Geguillotineert; wy zullen in onze volgende nommers de particulariteiten dezer gebeurtenis mede deelen. In dezelve nacht zyn nog Geguillotineert twaalff Officieren der Municipaliteit van Parys, namentlyk Bernard, Geary, Gobeau, Simon de Schoemaakers-baas, die Preceptor van Louis XVII. was, Laurent, [illegible] den Paruykemaker Lezard, [illegible] Op den volgende dag zyn'er nog 68 Officieren der gemeld Municipaliteit, een Gedeputeerde Commissaris by de Armeen, en een Generaal als aanhangers van Roberspierre onder het Swaard der Guillotine [illegible]! STABROEK [centered] October 11. The Honorable Court of Justice of Demerary will meet on Monday next at the Town-hall in this Town. The Honorable Court of Policy of Essequebo Demerary and adjacencys will meet at the Town-hall in this town on Monday the 28th instant. The Barbados Packett Sloop Mary is arrived from said place on the 16th instant, by her we have received Papers down to the 23d of August. The position of the respective Armys is much the same as it was at the departure of the first August Packett from England: the British Army is encamped a few miles behind Breda, and the French are at Roosendael. The Gallant Commander of Sluys Major General Van Der Duyn, has untill now been very succesful [sic] in his defence against the French; and the greatest hope is entertained that they will be oblige [sic] to raise the Siege of said place. The celebrated Maximilien Robersp•erre aged 35 years, and most all his adherents viz George Couthon, St. Just, Roberspierre Junior, Henriot & Lavalette Commanders of the Notional [sic] Guard, Dumas President of the Revolutionary Tribunal, Lescot Fleuriot Mayor of Paris, Payen and Viviers are fallen under the ax of the Guillotine, on the evening of the 28th July, in presence of an immense multitude of Spectators.
More then [sic] 160 persons have shared the same fate from the 24th to the 27th of
said Month amongst whom the most celebrated are the Baron Trenq: Chernier
author of the Tragedy named Charles IX. the Marquis de Montalembert, the
Marquis De Roquelaurs, Crequi de Montmorency, Goesman Members of the Parliament
of Maupeou; the Duc of Clemont Tennere; the Marquis De Crussel d'Amboise; the
Countess d'Ossun; the Count Thiars, St. Simon Bishop of Agde; the Countess of
Narboone Pellet, the Princess of Grimaldi Monaco, the two Brother Trudaine,
Members of the Parliament of Paris, the Countess of Perigord, the Lady of
Marchal d'Armentieres, the Princess of Chimay, &c. (
