Saturday, the 7th of April.

The Honorable Court of Policy of Essequebo & Demerary having resolved on the Petition of Mr. Andrew Shanks, to grant him his Discharge as Ferry-Man of Mahaica Creek, and anew to form out the said Ferry, subject to the same Regulations and the same Tariff as are stated at large in the Courts' Publication of the 7th January 1803 - Public Notice is hereby given that all Persons desirous of becoming Candidates for the said Situation, may bring or send in their sealed Proposals to the Secretary's Office in Stabroek, where a box is to be placed to receive the same from this date until the 30th. of the present Month. The said Proposals (which are to specify the Security intended to be given for the due Payment of the Annual Sums offered to the Colony for the Privilege of the said Ferry,) shall be opened and examined at the next ensuing Ordinary Session of the Court of Policy, to commence on the 30th Instant, when One of the Three highest Bidders, at the option of the said Court, is to be appointed Ferry-Man of Mahaica accordingly.

Stabroek District.
The Five Companies of Militia of this District, will attend Parade on Saturday Morning, the 14th Instant, at half past five o'Clock. The time elapsed since last Parade has it is hoped, enabled every one to make up their Uniforms and have their Arms in good Order, so as to appear as compleat as possible.
The Gentlemen who have given in their Names to His Honor the Governor, as "Volunteer Rifflemen [sic]" are excused from attending Parade, until further Orders.

Alzoo de Heeren John Ross, A. Bickurst & H. W. Scmo[umlaut]r [could also be "Somo[umlaut]r"], van voorneemens zyn binnen 14 dagen van hier te vertrekken, zoo wordt zulks mits dezen bekend gemaakt, ten einde die geenen, welke iets van hun te pretendeeren hebben, of aan hun verschuldigd zyn, hunne pretensien koomen ontvangen, of hunne Schulden betaalen ter hunner Domicilium.

PUBLICK AUCTIONS. [heading]

The Commissary of the Vendue advertises that on Tuesday the 10th Instant, will be Sold, on the Premises, to the highest Bidder; that part of the Concession No. 18 on the North Dam, Stabroek, with a very commodious Dwelling House and other Buildings thereon, the Property of Robert Elder Esqr. of Barbados, by Order of W. Hallstead q.q. Also on the same day, and at same place, Genuine Old Port Wine in pipes, a few kegs old Rum from Barbados, and sundry articles of Dry Goods, Ironmongry [sic], and Provisions.

The Commissary of the Vendue advertises that on Thursday the 17th Instant, will be Exposed for sale to the highest Bidders, at the Store of Messrs: Mourant & Delisle; - Madeira Wine in pipes and half butts, gin and brandy in cases, Plantation Tools, Ironmongry [sic], Carpenters and Coopers tools, Negro hats and cloathing, sundry paints, pipes, tobacco, writing paper, china, glass and earthen ware, starch, hairpowder, tea, and sundry other Goods.

The Commissary of the Vendue advertises that on Thursday the 1st of May, will be Exposed for Sale to the highest Bidders, by Order of Mr. John Robb; - That pleasant situated House for Business, along side the Stelling of Bridge Town, newly Built, with a Lot of Land 64 feet fronting the Dam and 54 feet fronting the Stelling.

The Commissary of the Vendue advertises that on Monday the 7th of May, will be Exposed for Sale to the highest Bidders, by Order of Messrs: G. Henschelius, J. L. Biegman and H. C. Evertsz in their respective qualities; - That large strong built and well situated House at present occupied by the Members of St. John's Lodge, with a brick foundation of 8 feet high, two storie all of this Colony wood and shingled and boarded with the same, a side building for Kitchen, Store &c. a large Out House two storie high, all built of Colony Wood, together with the Lot of Land, Fence, Gates and Bridges known by No. 56, situate on the front Land of Plantation Werk & Rust. The Concession No. 23 situated on the Middle Dam of Stabroek, with the Buildings thereon, consisting of a Dwelling House, out-houses &c. all of this Colony Wood. House Slaves, Furniture consisting of Mahogany chairs, tables, bureaus, writing desks, pictures, card tables, side board, glass ware, an elegant Pendue, sophas, bedsteads, silver spoons and forks, and 8000 Shingles. The Premises will be sold on very reasonable Terms.

ADVERTISEMENTS. [heading]

The Subscriber intends leaving this Colony in a short time, will dispose of her House and Land in front of Plantation Thomas; an approved Purchaser will have it reasonable.

The Subscriber has Imported in the Ship Margaret from England, the following Articles which he will sell on moderate Terms for immediate Payment, at his Store on the American Stelling, viz:
Best stone lime in Hhds, best Southhampton bricks, Coals in Hhds., Earthen ware in crates, saddles, bridles, cloth of different qualities, different sorts nails, paint and oil, Iron hinges for doors and windows, Iron shovels, hoes and cane knives, thread, tape, needles &c. of different sorts, hats, quills, sealing wax & wafers, best French Brandy, French claret in cases, soap, Jewelery [sic], sweet oil, Hamburgh linen, fowling pieces, hams and rounds beef in tubs, Potatoes in hampers & barrels, raisins, sweet almonds, best Dutch green pease in demijohns, glass ware, toys &c. and a variety of other Articles.

Thibou Mathews L.L.D. informs the Public that his Office is removed to the House formerly Occupied by Mr. Marx, next to the Store of Messrs: Ridley, Dodson & Co. on the North Dam, Stabroek; the Office is open every Day from eight o'Clock in the Morning to two o'Clock in the Afternoon. Sundays and Court Days excepted. He solicits the favors of his Friends.

Stolen out of the house of the Subscriber on the 3d Instant, a Gold repeating Watch with a Gold Chain and Seal: with his Coat of Arms engraved on the one side and the Cyphers F. S. S. on the other; the Watch was made in England going on a Robin, but out of order, it is wound up but does not go. The Person who restores it to the Underwritten or gives any certain notice, will be generously Rewarded.
