Notice
is hereby given, that the Office of the Acting President of the Court of
Justice, V. A. Heyliger, LL.D. will be provisionally kept at the Government
Secretary's Office, where he will attend every day from nine till two o'Clock,
Sundays and Holydays excepted.
The
Fiscal of this Colony desires, all Captains of Vessels to apply at his Office,
for Directions, where to discharge their Ballast in future.

The
Subscriber having now received the Books and Papers of the late firm of Edward
Lamming & Co. into his own hands. Requests all Persons having any demands
against that concern to render the same in Person at the House of Mrs. Harriott
in Stabroek, on the 20th Inst. there to consult on the most expiditious [sic]
plan of liquidating the debts. No Receipt of Mr. Edward Lamming, after this
date, in behalf of the said concern will be considered valid by
Secretary's-Office,

Virtue of a Certain Extract Notul dated 16th March, 1807, are herewith by me
the Underwritten Marshal of the Honble. Court of Police, at the request of F.
Butteweg in quality as the only Acting Executor to the Estate of J. L. Wertman
[sic] deceased, Summoned all known and unknown creditors to the said Estate, in
order to appear or send their Attorneys at the Ordinary Sessions of the Honble.
Court of Justice in the Town of Stabroek in Rio Demerary, on the 18th May next
and following days: in order to render their pretentions and make their claim
thereto as they shall seem meet; whereas after the expiration of this 4th and
last Summons by Edict shall be proceeded to obtain perpetual silence. This 4th
and last Summons by Edict being published and affixed there and where it ought
to be.
By
Virtue of a Certain Extract Notal dated 16th March, 1807, are by me the Underwritten
Marshal for the fourth time Summoned all known and unknown creditors to the
Estate beforementioned, to appear or send their Attorneys at the Ordinary
Sessions of the Honble. Court of Justice in the Town of Stabroek in Rio
Demerary, on the 18th May next and following days: in order to render their
pretentions and at the same time lay their claims thereto as they shall seem
meet; whereas after this fourth and last Exsuperabundanti Edict, will be
proceeded to obtain the perpetual silence. This 4th and last Summons by Edict
being published and affixed there and where it ought to be.
By
Virtue of a Certain Appointment dated 23d April, 1807, granted by His
Excellency H. W. Bentinck, Lieut. Governor of the Rivers Essequebo and Demerary
and their Dependencies, President in all Courts and Colleges, &c. &c.
&c. on the Petition of A. Leeds, Executor to the Estate of Wm. Leeds,
deceased, are hereby Summoned all known and unknown creditors of the aforesaid
Estate, to appear or send their Attorneys at the Ordinary Sessions of the
Honble: Court of Justice in the Town of Stabroek in Rio Demerary on the 18th of
May next and following days; in order to render their pretentions and lay their
claim thereto accordingly; whereas after the 1st, 2d, 3d, 4th and last
Exsuperabundandie [sic] Edict will be proceeded to obtain perpetual silence.
This first Summons by Edict being published and affixed there and where it
ought to be.

A. de Villeneuve, deceased, all known and unknown creditors of the aforesaid
Estate, to appear or send their Attorneys at the Ordinary Sessions of the Hon.
Court of Justice in the Town of Stabroek in Rio Demerary. on the 18th of May
next and following days; in order to render their pretentions and make their
claim thereto accordingly; whereas after this fourth and last Summons by Edict
will be proceeded against the non appearers to obtain the perpetual silence as
the Law directs. Thus published and affixed there and where it ought to be.
Absented
themselves from Plantation Belle Plaine, Wakenham Island, 2 Negro Masons, by
name John and Alves. Whoever will bring them to the Subscriber or lodge them
in the Barracks, shall receive One Joe reward for each.

The
Subscriber offers for Sale or Hire, a House and Half Lot of Land in Cuminsburgh
[sic], situated between the Premises of Mr. John Hillman, and the Widow Robb,
well known for the Convenience of all Kinds of Business. For Particulars
please apply to Mr. Collitt Smith, residing on Lot No. 83, Brick Dam, Stabroek.
His
Excellency Governor Bentinck with his Secretary J. Brown Esqr. leave the Colony
this Day, on board the Gingle, for the Islands, where his Excellency will avail
himself of the first Packet, to convey him to Europe, for the reestablishment
of his health, which of late has been so very precarious, as to render a trip
absolutely necessary. We sincerely hope that his Excellency may recover his
health sufficiently to enable him soon to recover his health sufficiently to
enable him soon to return, and resume the important function which he has
filled, with so much credit to himself and satisfaction to the Public, during
his late administration. The Honorable Court of Justice will meet on Monday the 13th May next. The Francis Freeling Packett [sic] with the second Mail for March arrived in Barbados on the 21st ult. She brings the pleasing intelligence of the Russians under General Essen, have gained a considerable advantage over the French under General Savary, as will be seen by our Extracts.
Yesterday
Morning, His Majesty's Cutter Barbara, Ed. Augs. D'Arcy, Commander , and His
Majesty's Cutter Laura, R. Jetts, Commander, arrived in this River, they left
Cork on the 28th March last, they convoyed a part of the Cork Fleet, to
Surinam, one Vessel of which (the Rosetta, Capt. Marshall) arrived here
yesterday. Vessels Entered and Cleared since our last.

Monday the 4th instant, at the Store of Messrs. Fisher & Chorley, formerly
occupied by G. I. Goppy, Esq. New Town, a quantity of Dry Goods, Provisions,
&c. &c.
On
Wednesday the 6th instant, at the store of Thos. Finlayson, Esq. Robb's Town, a
general assortment of Dry Goods, Provisions, Liquors, &c. just imported in
the ship Harmony, Capt. Wilson. On Thursday the 7th instant, by order of I. M. Bauch, Esq. at the house of Mrs. Haly, on the Brick Dam, - House Furniture, Land, Negroes, &c. &c. On Friday the 8th inst. at the store of Messrs. Thomas McKenzie & Co. - Dry Goods, Provisions, Liquors, &c. &c. Subscriber requests those who have mending Work with the late Mr. Lahaughn,
Jeweller, will call at his House and claim the same, or it will be Sold at
