Thursday
being the Anniversary of his Majesty's Birth, the Demerary Militia turned out

by the line with three Cheers in honour of the Day, the line was Commanded by
Colonel R. Nicholson, who expressed much satisfaction at the appearance and
discipline of the Militia. The Weather was very unfavourable, and the ground
was a perfect swamp; - at 1 o'clock the firing from the vessels began, and had
a very fine effect from the great number of armed vessels at present in the
River. The Officers of the Demerary Militia Dined together at the Union Coffee
House.
