WHEREAS His Royal Highness, the Prince Regent has been pleased to signify his commands, that the ENGLISH LANGUAGE should be introduced in all proceedings before the Courts of Law within this Government I have to direct, and I do, hereby, direct that all [illegible]

The GOVERNOR has been pleased to appoint Francis White, Esquire, to be Government Secretary for this Colony.

The subscriber, in addition to his general assortment, has received per Thomas, Capt. Langley, from London:
Printed calicoes and cambrics, of the newest fashion, cambric and fancy muslins, chintz and blue copperplate furniture, towels, table-cloths, linen checks, striped bed-tick, Irish linens, long-lawns, platillas, shirting calicoes, &c. &c. whic he will dispose of very reasonable for immediate payment.

Who, for the last time, requests those indebted to him, by note-of-hand, open account, or protested bills, to make immediate payment; otherwise he will be under the disagreeable necessity of taking coercive measures.

By virtue of a certain Authorisation obtained from His Excellency the Governor, dated 3d of December, 1811, and deed of non-interruption which thereon followed on the 21st of December last, there will be offered for sale, by me, the underwritten First Marshal of the Honourable Court of Justice, in presence of two Counsellor-Commissaries and the Secretary, at the Court-House in the chief town of Stabroek, on Tuesday the 10th of March next:
In behalf of the free coloured Henry Lookey, versus Bridge and Harrower: The half of two Lots of land, situate in Cumingsburg, No. 15 and 16, with the Mud Lots, and all the Buildings thereon, standing, viz. A Carpenters' Logie 30 feet long by 26 feet broad, a side-building 50 feet by 15, and a Smiths' shop 26 feet by 15, covered with wallaba shingles; as likewise a platform on the mud lots.
Those who conceive to have right or title to the above effects, will be pleased to address themselves, with their reasons, to me, the first Marshal; and those intending to purchase, will please to come at day and place abovementioned to hear the conditions.

On Friday, the 21st instant, at the Vendue-Office, - a variety of dry goods, London bottled and draught porter, &c. &c.
Also at the Commissariat Yard, (at one o'clock) a quantity of empty pipes, puncheons and tierces.
Also on the same day, by order of Thomas Allman, Esq. Contractor by his agent - A gold watch, chain, seals, a pocket compass, a thermometer, a time piece, double and single barrel guns, and hair trigger pistols in mahogany cases, spy glasses, a liquor case, a shaving case, an iron chest, a trunk linen, chairs and Colony made tables and benches, - an assortment of books elegantly bound, among which are the Encyclopedia, Elegant Extracts, Johnsons Dictionary in two large volumes, Tatler, Guardian, Spectator, Young's Night Thoughts, Ossian's Poems, Don Quixote, Gifford's Life of William Pitt, Walpole's Life of Charles James Fox, Burke's Maxims, Junius' Letters, Pinckney's Travels through France, Carr's Baltic, Johnson's lives of the Poets, Shakespear's Works, British Drama, English Comedies, Plutarch, British Trident, Stern's Works, sundry Novels, Odes, &c. a Dirk, and several other articles.

On Monday the 24th inst. at the Vendue Office, by order of Mrs. Wolff, (Widow of the late Doctor Wolff) - Two capital horses, a negro woman, named Minkey, a good cook and washer; several medical books, medicines, and what may further offer on the day of sale.

Robert & William Pulsford, in the Commissary Court of March ensuing, a certain Mortgage passed in favour of Boddaert and Co. on Plantation Retrieve, the property of the Estate of G. Crafts, deceased.
