Demerary, 23d June, 1815.

The Ship Suwarrow, owned by Messrs. Robertson & Donovan, of Liverpool, and intending for this Port, after discharging part of her cargo and taking in Fish at Trinity harbour, Newfoundland - was totally lost about 20 leagues to the eastward of the latter, on Sunday morning the 14th ult. For several days previous to this, the Suwarrow had encountered most severe weather, amidst continued fields of ice, against a heavy piece of which, on the morning named, she struck, when her bows were instantly driven in, and within half an hour afterwards she foundered. The Passengers, Geo. Henderson, Esq. of Liverpool, and Mr. W. Postlethwaite, Jun. (who arrived here on Wednesday, in the Brig Louisa, from St. Johns'), with the Master and Crew, were providentially saved by the boats of a small fishing vessel of the country, which hove in sight through the ice, a few moments after the ship received the injury.

Errata in the Militia General Order, published in the first Page of this Paper - for "J. M. Retemeyer, Gent. to be Second Lieutenant, vice De St. Marie, deceased" read "J. M. Retemeyer, Gent. to be Second Lieutenant, vice Cells, left the Colony."
