His
Excellency the Acting-Governor and Commander in Chief, has been pleased to make
the following Promotion in the Demerary Militia:

Mahaica
Ferry. [heading]
The
Stelling on the East side of Mahaica Creek, having in some degree sunk, and
become rather steep; the Subscriber gives notice, that the repairing of it will
commence on Monday the 2d of October, and be continued the following days of
the week. He therefore respectfully requests all persons, wishful of passing
during that time, to endeavour and get to the Ferry as near the time of
high-water as possible, to prevent any inconvenience that might otherwise
occur.

Sale, by the Subscribers, on Robb's Stelling, now landing, one half of the
Cargo of the Schooner Nancy, from Boston - consisting of the following
articles: -
Tobacco
in barrels of a superior quality, superfine Flour, Rice in whole and half
tierces, Tar and Pitch.
Also
on hand - Fish in different size casks, Mackarel, Temper Lime, Cordage,
Puncheon Hoops and Rivets, Nails different sizes, Cotton Bagging, Coffee Bags,
and Madeira Wine in bottles.

brig Kutusoff, from Plymouth; last from Surinam, has arrived. Left the former
on the 4th of August. No Packet at the latter.

Court

By
Virtue of an Order of the Honorable the Court of Criminal and Civil Justice of
Demerary and Essequebo, are hereby Summoned - all known and unknown Creditors,
who have, or sustain any right or claim, against the Estate (Boedel) of L. A.
J. Philippart, deceased, (to which Estate Edward Bishop, Jr. has been appointed
Curator) - to give in their respective claims, with the vouchers and documents
belonging thereto, at the next Ordinary Meeting of the Court, the 16th October,
and following days; after which the Court will decide on the priority of the
claims so rendered, on the next proceeds of said Estate, and decree perpetual
silence against the non-appearers.
