The
DEMERARY and ESSEQUEBO
Vol. X.] [Colophon] [No.
836.
ROYAL GAZETTE.
Saturday,
October 28, 1815.
Runaway, from
the service of the Civil Government - three Negro-Men, named Jemmy, Davy, and
Quasby. Jemmy disappeared on Monday the 16th, Davy on Monday the 23d ultimo,
and Quasby some months ago. Jemmy is quite black, and rather elderly, he was
formerly Boat-Captain to the late Commandeur of Essequebo, and is supposed will
endeavour to get among his old acquaintances in the neighbourhood of
Fort-Island, where he has resided many years, and pass himself for one of the
old people permitted to remain there. Davy is a well made yellow-skinned young
man, has a number of scars about his back and shoulders, has lost one of the
toes of his right foot, and some of his front teeth; supposed to be in town.
Quasby is about the same age as Jemmy, and also supposed to be harboured in the
river Essequebo. - Whoever will apprehend the above Negroes, shall be rewarded,
and the Law enforced against any one found harbouring them.
