Departures - the Robert mail-boat, for St. Kitt's; and the schooner Pegasus and Aletta, for Barbados. The letter-bag of the brig Isabella, is at the store of Wilson, Drummond, and Co. She sails for London, on Thursday next. Local Laws. [heading] By Act published on the 12th of February 1810, it is ordered that by way of renewing and amending the Ordinance of the 1st of September 1795, respecting the information to be given of every occuring desertion of Slaves, all Proprietors and Administrators of Estates, and other Inhabitants, shall be bound, whenever any Slave or Salves, may desert from them, to give in a report thereof to the Captainof the Militia, of the District in which they reside, within ten days after the date of such desertion; which report is also to contain the name or names of the deserted Slave or Slaves, his, her or their nation, sex, and description; and in the event of any such Slave or Slaves returning to the Estate or Proprietor, immediate information is also to be given thereof to the Captain of the District, as before-stated. And all Owners or Administrators of Estates, or other Inhabitants, who shall not make such returns within the time required, shall, on any Slave belonging them being afterwards taken up in the course of any Bush Expedition, or otherwise, forfeit all title to such Slave or Slaves, and, above that, a sum of f 600.
