By virtue of authority received from His
Honor the President of the Honble. Court of Criminal and Civil Justice of the
United Colony of Demerary and Essequebo - I, the undersigned Deputy First
Marshal of said Colony, will expose for sale, unto the highest bidder, in
presence of the Honble. Counsellor Commissaries, and their Secretary, at the
Court-House, in George-Town, on the Fourth Day of March, 1817 -
1. In behalf of J. G. Christiani,
Attorney of J. C. Muller, Plaintiff; versus the free black woman Lucy Van den
Velden, Defendant: as also in behalf of George Lacy, Plaintiff, versus the said
Defendant. - The Defendant's Lot or Concession, No. 53, with the Buildings
thereon, situate in the district Stabroek.
2. In behalf of W. P. Iskenius,
Plaintiff; versus Margaret Ward, coloured woman, Defendant. - The Defendant's
Concession, No. 15, with the Buildings thereon, situated in Charles-Town.
3. In behalf of J. A. Kihing, for self
and nom. ux. E. Kihing, born Cramer, Plaintiff; versus the Widow G. Egeling,
Defendant. - The Defendant's North Half of Lot No. 50, with the Buildings
thereon, situated in the district of Werk en Rust.
4. In behalf of H. Borel, as having
obtained cession of action from James Jackson and James Finlayson, q.q. Thomas
Finlayson, Plaintiff; versus the free coloured man Thomas Cuvelje, Defendant:
as also in behalf of Elizabeth Harriott, free coloured woman, and Thos.
Hubbard, Plaintiffs; versus the said Defendant, Thomas Cuvelje. - The unexpired
lease of the Defendant's Lot No. 34, with the Builings [sic] thereon, situated
in North-street, in New Town.
5. In behalf of Nicholas Hugenholtz,
Plaintiff; versus G. C. Meyer, Defendant. - The Defendant's Premises situated
in the district of Werk en Rust, at present occupied by him, and known as No.
15, 16, 23, and 24; as also the Defendant's unexpired Lease of Lot No. 8, and
Half of Lot No. 7, situated in the district of Vlissingen, with the Builings
[sic] thereon, called the Union Coffee-House.
Whoever shall conceive to have any
right, title, or claim, on the above properties, and wishing to oppose the sale
thereof, let such person or persons address themselves to me in due time, at
the Marshal's Office, stating their reasons of opposition; when I will appoint
such person or persons a day of hearing before the Honble. Court of Justice for
these Colonies, for the trial of the same; and those wishful of purchasing,
will please attend on the day of sale, and at the place above described.
