Arrivals - the schooner Alert, from
Barbados; and a ship from Boston.
PUBLIC VENDUES. [heading]
On Wednesday the 19th of February, at
the Vendue-Office, by order of the Executors of Jeremiah Macfie, decd. and W.
M'Kenzie.
The well-known three pilot negroes,
named Pat, John, and Tom Latham. Also, by order of the Executors of J. Macfie,
and J. Bommell - the two pilot negroes, named Tom Clark and Simon; and the
large pilot sloop, coppered, and copper fastened. Also, by the Executors of J.
Macfie, John Bommell, and A. Thompson - the small pilot sloop Eliza & Jane;
coppered and copper-fastened, built of cedar, at New Providence, and has a
register - also, a writing desk, a chest, hammock, spy glass, sundry books,
charts, &c.
Also, by order of Miss Luthers - a negro
man named -----, a sailor, sold for no fault.
Also, by order of Joseph Taylor, q.q. a
negro woman named Presilla, about 27 years of age, a very superior lady's mad
and seamstress, being acquainted with all kinds of needle-work, her owner not
having use for her in those capacities, is desirous of selling her to obtain a
man servant in her place.
Also, by order of J. W. Robinson, junr.
- one half, more or less, of lot No. 9, situated in Kingston district, as sold
at Vendue on the 2d March, 1808.
Also, by order of Louisa Gelot,
Deliberating Executrix to the estate of the late J. Lachtrop, deceased - sundry
wearing apparel, a bureau, two tables, a number of small Dutch books, with
engravings, for the use of children at school, stationery, a musket, side arms,
and two pistols in good order.
Also, by order of H. M. Robertson, to be
sold without reserve, to close a consignment, a choice assortment of
earthenware, consisting of double and single sets of blue figured and brown
edged, to suit families; also crates with bowls, mess cups and saucers assorted,
for dealers; desert [sic] sets, white enemmelled [sic] ditto. Also, patent
shot, in bags, N. 1 to 8.
Also, by order of Mrs. Dempster, a negro
woman named Diana.
Also, by order of John Strathie and Co.
a stout negro man named John, at three, six, and nine months credit. Also,
forty new molasses casks, at 3 months.
Also, by order of William Munro and
Alexander de Weever, executors to Miss Johanna De Weever - nine valuable
slaves, named Derrick, Edward, Cicero, Colin, Stanley, Pompey, Stanhope,
Sappho, and Thisbe.
Also, by order of William Munro, Esqr.
Executor to E. H. Barret - five negroes, named Stephney, Strephon, Charlotte,
Elvira, and Jessy.
Also, by order of the Curators of Innis
Arthur - the house and lot, No. 283, situated in Cumingsburg.
Also, two elegant new piano-fortes,
&c.
Also, two puncheons containing negro
clothing, oznaburgs, &c. and a case of large cotton hammocks.
Also. by order of N. W. Firebrace - ten
negroes of excellent character, among whom are eight field people and two
children. Terms of payment, 3, 6, and 9 months' credit.
Also, by order of H. O. Seward - A
complete carpenter negro, named Jack; at 3, 6, and 9 months' credit.
