NOTICE. [heading]
The Copartnership of Finlayson, Barnes,
& Co. having been dissolved on the 19th of November, during my absence from
the Colony, by Mr. Wm. Barnes and Mr. James Finlayson - I take this opportunity
of giving this my public sanction to the same.
Feb. 26. Thomas Finlayson.
Obituary. - Departed this life, at
Plantation Kitty, Pomeroon - John Westley Thomas, Esqr. aged 58; and old and much-respected
inhabitant.
PUBLIC VENDUES. [heading]
On Saturday the 1st of March, at the
Vendue Office, by order of J. H. Boode and John Waddle, Esqrs. q.q. the Heirs
of Christopher Waterton, deceased: -
Plantation Windsor, situated on Leguan
Island. There are at present no cultivation or buildings on the property. The
conditions of sale will be made known on the day of sale.
Also, a prime sawyer named Jacob, and a
carpenter named Simon; sold from the owner having no use for them.
Also, by order of M. Campbell - an
active young negro woman; and good washer and house-servant.
Also, by order of Miss Kitty Bollers - a
negro boy, named Simon; at three months' credit.
Also, by order of Mr. Edward Derrick -
two field negroes.
Also, by order of Messrs. Fullerton,
Playter, & Co. - 9 pipes and 6 hogsheads Bronti Madeira wine, a consignent
[sic] of pictures, &c.
Also, by order of P. Benjamin, Esq.
three negro men and one woman.
Also, by order of E. G. Vermeullen, Esq.
a microscope complete, a fowling piece, a travelling medicine case, a gold
mounted tortoise-shell snuff box, a cabinet containing 53 transparent and
opaque objects, a thermometer, a writing desk, spy glasses of different sizes,
charts of Demerary and Berbice, a valuable collection of French, Italian, and
German books.
Also, by order of J. J. Van Kruyningen -
a carpenter negro named Tom.
Also, by order of Thomas Finlayson,
Esqr. one hundred barrels new superfine Virginia flour, now landing from on
board the brig Cogniac Packet, from Boston.
