Whereas the following persons have
petitioned the Honorable Court of Policy of Demerary and Essequebo, for Letters
of Manumission for the after-named slaves: -
U. I. F. Bach, for the mulatto slave
Petronella, and child Matty, and girl Johanna.
G. Timmerman, Executor of J. Hockstein,
deceased, for the negro woman Johanna and black child James.
J. Schneido, for the negro woman Aminil,
and her black daughter Maranda.

Whereas the following persons having
lived for upwards of ten years in a state of reputed freedom, have, in
consequence of the then Acting Governor, Colonel Codd's proclamation, of the
18th September, 1813, petitioned the Honorable the court of Policy of Demerary
and Essequebo, for regular Letters of Manumission, viz.
The black woman Christina Clarke, for
self, and three mulatto daughters, Mary, Christina, and Rachel.
Amba Wells, black woman, for self and
four children, Martha, Eliza, Hannah, and Ben.
All those who may consider themselves
entitled to oppose the delivery of such regular Letters of Manumission, are
hereby notified to state such oppostion at the Colonial Secretary's Office,
between this date and the next ensuing Ordinary Session of the Court of Policy
aforesaid, on the 28th instant.

Vlissingen Academy. [heading]
A. Cart respectfully informs his friends
and the public, that the Easter Vacation commenced on the 5th, and the business
of the Academy will be resumed on the 14th instant.
A. C. most earnestly solicits payment
from those who are in arrears to him; and if this request does not produce the
effect intended, he will be under the necessity, however repugnant to his
feelings, to adopt measures that will. - April 9.
