For
Sale - the Water-Lot, No. 1, in Werk en Rust, next the Premises of Messers.
[sic] M'Inroy, Sandbach, & Co.
Also,
a Family of Negroes, viz. Sophia, a complete washer, &c.; Mary and her
mulatto child, a house servant and complete seamstress; Louisa, a house
servant, washer, &c.; Ned, 12 or 14 years of age, has been at the
carpenter's trade about three years. These people are sold for no fault, the
owner having no use for so many domestics. If not sold at private sale, will
be sold at Vendue as soon as a good opportunity offers. Sophia, the mother of
these negroes, is an African, and her children creoles of this colony.

Colony-House,
August 14.
Absconded
from the Undersigned, on the 5th instant, the well-known negro woman Catharina,
formerly the property of Miss Kitty Otto, and having a number of acquaintances
on plantations La Grange and Malgretout, also at plantation Anna Catharina situated
in Canal No. 1, where she has a husband, and at plantation Henry - it is
supposed she is at present at one of those Estates. The gentlemen are
therefore requested to make the necessary enquiries relating to said woman, and
the customary reward will be given for her apprehension; but if she returns on
her own accord, she will be forgiven and have the liberty of seeking a new
owner. The above-named woman, who calls herself Quashiba, is well known about
town, as she has been in the habit of selling cakes. All persons are cautioned
against harbouring the said slave, and all masters of vessels against taking
her off.
