I made up a recipe using pear juice, ginger wine and diet ginger beer, a small amount of sugar, two quarters of poached pear each cup, set with leaf gelatin. It worked wonderfully. The ginger cream was thickened cream whipped with ginger marmalade and ginger wine. A pfeffer bread sat atop.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/IMG_80011.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-472\" title=\"IMG_8001\" src=\"https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/IMG_80011-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/IMG_80011-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/IMG_80011-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/IMG_80011-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/IMG_80011.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The other choice, for one shall not under cater, was a &#8220;practicality is the mother of invention&#8221; recipe. I wanted to make a rosewater meringue torte\u00a0 style dessert, but for 35 people and the practicalities of cutting and serving, I went to my favoured serving method of individual cups.<br \/>\nI made 80 mini rose water meringues, washed and sliced 1.5 kg of fragrant sweet strawberries which I sprinkled with caster sugar and rose water.\u00a0 Layers of strawberries, meringue and Greek yoghurt finishing with a specially shaped meringue and crushed pistachios made this exotic, delicious and favourite sweet ending.<a href=\"https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/IMG_79981.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-474\" title=\"IMG_7998\" src=\"https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/IMG_79981-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/IMG_79981-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/IMG_79981-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/IMG_79981-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/IMG_79981.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was a delightfully crazy weekend 2 weeks ago\u2013a major celebration cake, then dessert for 35 at another major celebration.
