It was a Vietnamese style savory mince in lettuce cups.<br \/>\nTo half a kilo of beef mince ($4.00) I added the juice and zest of two limes (about 60 cents) and a handful of chopped coriander with garlic, ginger and fish sauce (about $1.50).<br \/>\nWhile that was browning nicely, I finely julienned a capsicum (40 cents) and served the mince and capsicum on baby cos lettuce leaves (one lettuce $1.50).<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/?attachment_id=666\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-666\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-666\" alt=\"IMG_8342\" src=\"https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_8342-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_8342-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_8342-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_8342-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/IMG_8342.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vc.id.au\/licktheplateclean\/?attachment_id=666\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-666\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">In the end, it was a tasty, zingy\u00a0 lunch for $8 for 4 people<br \/>\n<\/span><\/a><\/span><br \/>\n&#8220;Yum,&#8221; said mum.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello, I am one of &#8220;the boys&#8221; and I am writing the blog today.
