Text | W.C. Brass died Friday aged 92 World War One veteran and retired CNR draftsman William Charles Brass died in Simpson's Private Hospital in Fort Langley last Friday, January 13th. Mr. Brass, 92, was born in St. Catherines, Saskatchewan on January 23rd, 1885. He had worked and lived in many parts of B.C. during his working career and retirement and had come to Fort Langley from North Vancouver a few years ago. He was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 47 years and was a member of the War Amputees Association. Mr. Brass’ death is survived by: two sons, Peter in Prince Rupert and Bill of Aldergrove; two daughters, Miss Olive VanCooten and Mrs. Margaret Fraser, both in Kelowna; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and his twin brother, Edward, in Armstrong, B.C. Mr. Brass’ wife predeceased him in North Vancouver in 1965. Rev. Ed Wilkin conducted the funeral service for the late W.C. Brass in Henderson’s Langley Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon, at three o'clock. The service was followed by cremation in Victory Memorial Park crematorium in Surrey. | |
