JUNE BRIDES. PERTHSHIRE SOCIETY WEDDING IN LONDON. Millais — Moncrieff. At St Peter’s, Eaton Square, London, this afternoon a pretty wedding took place, the bride being Miss Pennie Millais, daughter of Lady Millais and the late Sir Everett Millais, and the bridegroom Captain Malcolm Moncrieff, son of the late Sir Alexander Moncrieff and of Lady Moncrieff of Bandirran, Perthshire. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. Mr Van Cooten, brother-in-law of the bridegroom. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Sir John Millais, Bart., R.N., wore a charming gown of white satin draped with old Brussels lace. Her tulle veil was gracefully caught with a wreath of orange blossom, and her ornaments included a black opal set in diamonds, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids were Miss Annice Millais (sister of the bride), Miss Gladys Moncrieff (sister of the bridegroom), Miss Pamela Rimington Wilson, Miss Lettice Rimington Wilson, Miss Clara Stuart Wortley (cousins of the bridegroom), Miss Veronica MacEwen, and Miss Rosemary Hope Vere (cousins of the bride). They wore pale blue satin dresses, with pink sashes and biscuit-coloured straw hats trimmed with lace and trimmed with blue ribbon and pink roses, and their ornaments included pearl and diamond brooches, the gifts of the bridegroom. Captain Alaric Moncrieff, of the Inniskillen Dragoons, acted as best man. | |
