What’s in a name?

Words are important. In deliberating a name for this blog, the images of warmth, generosity, deliciousness and welcoming brewed in my mind.

AH HA!!! Got it:

“WAFT” –  To convey a sense of welcoming aroma.

But, sadly there are some contemporary definitions that just don’t work:
Waft = A hovering of a smell (fart maybe) through the air;
or
Waft = weed/hash

No. Not waft.

Many thoughts later……
I have had a print of Peter Bruegel’s Peasant Wedding for many years and my thoughts went to it’s warm colours and suggestion of hospitality and gathering.
Then I noticed the delightful detail of the little child in the corner.
Doing what????
They felt at home enough to Lick the Plate Clean.

  1. I think licking a plate clean is as good a sign of a great meal as a big belch. I say “Keep licking the plate clean”.
